Strong hint of Sián
The Lamborghini Aventador has since been retired, but the successor is not yet ready. However, a lot of work is already being done on this. The villain again equipped with a V12 slides past the lens of our spy photographer.
These are exciting times for the happy few, because more than eleven years after the introduction of the Lamborghini Aventador, we have a view on the next flagship of the Italian manufacturer. You don’t have to look twice to see that it is that car, because with its wedge shape and relatively long and high rear it is again a Lamborghini pure sang.
Nevertheless, the design of the Aventador will continue in the museum, because its successor is more intense in many areas. Especially at the rear, where we clearly see influences from the Lamborghini Sián. Just like the Sián, the Aventador successor will have rear lights that are housed in a kind of niche in the coach. They are above the stickers on this test sample that are supposed to resemble taillights. Contrary to what is the case with almost every new car in 2022, the Aventador successor will not receive a continuous bar of LED lighting to connect the two rear lights. No, halfway there are four exhaust tips that, just like the taillights, stick out of a fairly solid recess in the body. In this case, the license plate is not directly below it, as was the case with another prototype. Incidentally, at the very top of the butt, there is an integrated rear spoiler that rises at higher speeds.
From the four unmissable exhausts, the roar of a V12 can be heard again, so enthusiasts can breathe easy in that regard. However, the V12 will now work in conjunction with one or more electric motors. It will be a plug-in hybrid, just like the aforementioned Sián. You can count on it that in addition to a potentially beneficial effect on consumption and emissions, it also entails a nice spurt of extra power. Where the strongest Aventador made it to 780 hp, its successor can probably start with more than 800 hp system power in the base. We will probably only get to see the latest creation from Sant’Agata Bolognese in 2023.
