Black accents, stiffer chassis
Lamborghini comes as expected with a new, sportier version of the Urus SUV. The Lamborghini Urus Performante has not yet been unveiled, but is already showing itself extensively. We also now know some technical details.
It seems that someone at TheNationalNews.org from the United Arab Emirates pressed ‘publish’ a little too early. Over there we found not only the (still somewhat grainy) photos of the Lamborghini Urus Performante, but even technical data and a first driving impression. This information has not yet been confirmed by Lamborghini itself, but everything indicates that this is indeed the Urus Performante.
That ‘Performante’ suggests extra power, and there is. However, according to our source, the power gain is very limited, with 666 instead of the standard 650 hp from the same V8. He would owe this, among other things, to an Akrapovic exhaust, which undoubtedly sounds thick.
Bigger news could be found in the chassis area. Instead of the standard air suspension, this more ‘hardcore’ Urus is mounted on steel springs, which bring the car 20 mm closer to the asphalt. They are said to be 90 percent firmer than stock at the front and 51 percent firmer at the rear. The 22- or 23-inch wheels are spaced 16 mm apart on each axle. Of course, they also contribute to the extra fierce appearance. This is characterized by many black accents, especially on and around the bumpers. In the front cooling openings we see horizontal louvers instead of Lamborghini’s typical ‘hexagons’, but otherwise the finery is actually a bit disappointing. We do note a hood with extra cooling holes and an extra heavy roof spoiler. The interior is decorated with sporty seats and lots and lots of Alcantara.
In the Emirates, the Urus Performante costs about €298,000, according to The National News. That is considerably more than the roughly €227,500 that is asked there for a normal Urus. Don’t count yourself rich either: in the Netherlands a ‘normal’ Urus already costs well over three tons.
