The real beginning of the new Lancia

Lancia is preparing for a true rebirth and will show its first concept car in years next month. It is an electric study model with different design influences from the iconic Stratos.
These are exciting times for Lancia enthusiasts, because for the first time in years they can look forward to really new cars from the brand. After years of selling only the repeatedly refreshed Ypsilon in its home country of Italy, Lancia is going to try again elsewhere in Europe with a new model offensive. The first new Lancia will have to wait until 2024, but fortunately we will get a preview of the newcomer very soon.
In the photo of the ‘Emozione Pu+Ra’ concept car shared earlier this month, we clearly saw influences from the abstract Pu+Ra Zero speedform which Lancia showed last year. Now we get to see the study model from above and we see more of it. There is a mysterious circle on the roof, where the Pu+Ra Zero had a glass-covered round hole. Artistic, but not very telling. There is more concrete to say about the windscreen of the concept car. As can clearly be seen, it will be quite a large specimen, which extends quite far around the corners. The A-pillar is relatively far back and Lancia itself speaks of a quite ‘panoramic view’ from the car. The iconic Stratos also had a strong panoramic windshield. It seems that the concept car is not only reminiscent of the Stratos at the rear.

A Stratos-esque ass.
On the other hand, earlier this month we saw a digital version under a canvas, which had a more GT-like shape. Then there is the question of whether the car is sporty at all, or whether it is a high-legged study model. The latter is not very unlikely. The new Ypsilon kicks off Lancia’s rebirth in 2024 and that will most likely be a compact crossover. We will know more on April 15, when the Lancia Emozione Pu+Ra will be presented.
