Land Rover Defender looks green through Carlex Design

Carlex Design has taken care of the Land Rover Defender. The tuner did not make half work of it, because both the inside and outside of the ‘Racing Green Edition’ have been properly addressed, with Carlex generously using carbon fiber. The price tag is therefore towards that.

A Defender is of course anything but sporty. He is mainly focused on being able to stand his ground in the field. Carlex does not seem to care about that and gives the Defender a sporty theme. British Racing Green is more or less the international racing color of Great Britain, for the Defender Carlex chose to brush the green paint by hand. The roof, bonnet and lower half of the bumpers are colored contrasting black. In addition, the expanded carbon fiber wheel arches are not to be missed. They give the Defender a pretty aggressive look. You can judge for yourself whether he improves. To further emphasize the ‘sporty’ character, Carlex draped racing stripes over the body. Large five-spoke wheels then complete the picture. Watch out for curbs; you don’t want the white accent line on the tires to get damaged.

To the extent that the outside world had not yet noticed that you were driving a converted Defender, it says ‘Carlex’ on both the hood and the cover of the spare wheel. Also in the interior of the Racing Green Edition, Carlex does not hide its presence under chairs or sofas. Literally, because the tuner fitted its own seats with special cognac-colored upholstery and green details in both the front and rear. This color combination is also reflected in the seats, the center console and the dashboard. The steering wheel has the same brushed finish above and below as the exterior color. Anyone who thought they had gotten rid of the carbon fiber accents inside would be disappointed: the large panel in the dashboard is made of the material, just like the inserts on the seats. Each copy of the Defender Racing Green Edition features a special plaque with the serial number on it.

The adjustments are only of a cosmetic nature. Technically, Carlex hasn’t tinkered with the Defender. The price of the conversion? According to Carlex, this amounts to € 85,000. Do you still have to provide a Defender yourself.
