Unfortunately for DS, the unveiling of his new model of footage of that French sedan, which was planned later today, has surfaced. This is the DS 9!
Last week DS Automobiles announced the arrival of a new model, a brand new sedan that brings the total number of models of the brand to three. Thanks to the leaked visual material, we now also have a model name. The new sedan is called: DS 9.
On the lines of the car, the DS 9 is in fact DS ‘variant of the Peugeot 508. Although that Peugeot is a liftback, the DS 9 is a sedan. Striking things include the sunken door handles and the fact that the rear doors are noticeably longer than those of the 508. Like the Chinese 508L, the extended 508, the DS 9 does seem to have doors with window pillars. Both the front and rear share the 9 clear design elements with the 3 Crossback and the 7 Crossback. Striking: at the top we observe extra lighting elements next to the rear window, a design joke with which DS undoubtedly pays homage to the primal DS.
The DS 9 in the photo is a so-called E-Tense and that means this sedan is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Most likely this is one of the well-known plug-in hybrid systems that we know from the Peugeot 508 and 3008.
