Lexus has refreshed the ES for the second round. The digital side mirrors that we previously saw on the Japanese ES are now also available here. The equipment level is reviewed and Lexus immediately announces the Dutch prices.
The Lexus ES first appeared on the market here in the Netherlands in 2018. At the time, the car took over from the GS in the fight against cars such as the BMW 5-series and Audi A6. A subtle refresher should ensure that the ES is better prepared again. The biggest news are the optional digital side mirrors. They were previously shown at the Japanese ES and earlier this year we also heard that we would also get them here in Europe. Screens on the inside against the A-pillars project the image that the cameras receive.
The ES is only available here as 300h, the hybrid version. In it, a 178 hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder does its job together with an electric motor, bringing the system power to 218 hp. The entry-level model is the Comfort Line. This standard equipment now includes an electrically operated sliding / tilting roof, bi-LED headlamps, two-zone climate control, Blind Spot Minotor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with braking function. For € 54,495 you get the ES from now on as a Comfort Line, with which the starting price is € 1,500 higher than was the case at the introduction.
Higher up in the range, we find the new Business Line. As extras, it has anthracite-colored 18-inch light metal and a CD / DVD player and is available from € 55,450. The Business F Sport Line stands on 19-inch wheels and includes adaptive damping, Drive Mode Select and a driver’s seat with memory function. Naturally, the sporty appearance of F Sport is also part of the F Sport Line. It costs at least € 59,450. The F Sport Premium is available from € 66,245 and is the most luxuriously decorated sporty ES. In addition to the equipment of the F Sport Line, it has special sportier dampers, a sports suspension, the 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a sound system by Mark Levinson.
The Luxury Line keeps things a bit more upscale and includes wood trim in the dashboard, a wireless smartphone charger, electronically operated tailgate, rain sensors, leather upholstery and front seat cooling. This is available from € 61,505. The € 67,455 ES Executive Line is the luxury sub-top, with in addition to the equipment of the Luxery Line, among other things, electrically adjustable rear backrests, parking aid, special dampers, triple LED headlights, rear seat heating and climate control over three zones. The most luxurious ES is the President Line. In addition to the Executive Line, it has the aforementioned digital side mirrors, a 10.9-inch head-up display and a wood-finished center console. The President Line starts at € 69,855.
