Well-filled order books

Lotus is on its way to record figures. According to the brand, the past six months have already been good for records and the order books are well filled.
Lotus is making good progress under the wings of (and with the capital of) the Chinese Geely. With the still fresh Emira and the brand new electric Eletre, it has a fresh range for the first time in years and more is coming. According to Lotus, the first half of 2023 was already a record half year thanks to those two models.
It’s just not entirely clear what exactly the record is in. Lotus is not sharing any sales or turnover figures for the time being. However, more than 2,200 Emiras were built in the first six months, 381 percent more than last year. Furthermore, the Emira and Eletre have already accounted for around 17,000 worldwide orders and the Emira will be sold out for the next two years. These are all indications that Lotus is indeed more successful than ever before.
In any case, Lotus is already at record levels in the Netherlands this year. To date, Lotus has sold 18 cars here this year, seven Emiras and eleven Eletres. The previous record year was 2007, with 14 cars sold. That has already improved considerably this year and Lotus may even reach double that, although the sales results in an absolute sense will of course remain marginal.
