Petrol and diesel a lot more expensive

The Average National Recommended Price (GLA) for a liter of LPG is at a lower point than at the beginning of this year. This is the conclusion of consumer collective UnitedConsumers. With a price of €1.10 per liter, LPG leaves petrol and diesel far behind in both a relative and absolute sense.
On January 1, 2022, the average suggested retail price for LPG was €1.29 per litre, €0.19 higher than it is today. LPG also did not escape the rise in prices – in March the price for a liter was still at €1.40 – but it has now fallen sharply again.
After a tumultuous period in which fuel prices piled up record on record, they have recently fallen somewhat across the board. At the moment, a liter of diesel costs €2.11 and Euro 95 costs €2.27 per liter. Those are the lowest prices in two months. At the beginning of this year, the GLA for diesel was still at €1.74 and for Euro 95 at €2.10, which means that the prices of diesel and petrol are currently €0.37 and €0.17 higher than at 1. January.
According to UnitedConsumers, there is a chance that the current decline in fuel prices will continue, but it is “difficult to predict” at what pace that would go. This is partly due to the low value of the euro against the dollar and the fact that oil companies prefer not to lower fuel prices too quickly.
