‘Stealth look’ already available as an option

Lucid Motors appears to be preparing a new top-of-the-line version of the top-of-the-line electric sedan Air for its debut. This is evident from a teaser that the American EV builder shares on Twitter. Lucid also expands the configuration options of the Air with a new option: ‘Stealth Look’.
The teaser that Lucid shares on Twitter is still very vague. ‘Blue means go’, the Tweet states, along with a photo of the start lights of a racetrack/dragstrip. Normally this would be far too thin to say anything meaningful about it, but with some background knowledge it is possible. Lucid has been working on a three-engined version of the Air for some time, which has to be much more powerful than the current top version: the 1,126 hp two-engine Dream Edition P. Lucid has been putting a prototype of the three-engined Air on the drag strip for some time now. 9.245 seconds down on the quarter mile. For reference, that’s faster than the 1,500-horsepower Bugatti Chiron.

As a Dream Edition P, the Lucid Air is already more powerful than the 1,020 hp Tesla Model S Plaid, but the new variant promises to go a step further. The exact specifications are not yet known, but don’t be alarmed if the new Air gets more than 1,500 hp. We’ll know more on August 19, during Monterey Car Week. That is the date that the American EV builder mentions in the tweet.

Lucid Air in ‘Stealth Look’
Although the above news is still a bit abstract at the moment, Lucid is already offering new customers of the Air an extra choice in the composition of the car: ‘Stealth Look’. As the name suggests, Lucid darkens the chrome parts of the Air when checking this option. The insert above the headlamps, the trims at the bottom of the bumpers and doors, the arch above the side windows, the wheels and the side mirrors get a dark look, with Lucid alternating between matte and polished parts. Converted, the option costs €5,823, which is best for a few black trim pieces. The first copies of the Lucid Air are expected in our country at the end of this year.
