The American Lucid Motors releases more information about the Gravity. The Lucid Gravity will be an electric SUV that should become the electric car with the largest range in the world after the Air. Quite a claim! The Lucid Gravity is also coming to Europe, but not before 2024.
The American Lucid Motors is doing everything it can to become a player to be reckoned with in the car world. With sedan Air, Lucid already owns the electric car with the largest range, but that is not enough. Lucid also wants to have the SUV with the longest range. If we are to believe the Americans, that will also happen. In 2024, to be exact.
Lucid Gravity
Lucid has not yet released extensive technical data of the Gravity, but the manufacturer does not give subtle hints as to what you can expect from the electric SUV. Lucid says that the Gravity combines the performance of a supercar with that of a practical seven-seater like no other car on the market today. In addition, the Gravity must have a greater range than any other EV, with the exception of the Air from its own house. That’s quite a promise.
It would mean that the Lucid Gravity – which promises to be a whopper of an SUV – has an even greater electric range than cars such as the Tesla Model S Long Range and Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+, EVs that successively cover more than 400 miles and even 730 kilometers away. The Lucid Air comes with its largest 118 kWh battery pack 840 kilometers according to the strict EPA method. The Gravity – if it gets the same hardware – certainly won’t go over that. The question then is how far the Gravity dives below it.

As far as electrical power is concerned, you will probably not be short of anything in the Gravity. In its strongest form, the Lucid Air is more than 1,200 hp strong and thunders to a speed of 100 km / h in about 2 seconds. So it’s clear why Lucid speaks of “supercar performance.”
Depending on whether you go for the two- or three-row version, the Lucid Gravity comes with five, six or seven seats available. In the United States, the Gravity will be on the market in 2024, Lucid says it will soon release when the top electric SUV will be delivered in Europe. The Air is also coming to the Netherlands, so we expect the Gravity here eventually too.
Lucid will open order books in the United States in early 2023. Then it will also release more technical information and the final design of the SUV. Lucid says it will still be busy with both cases in the near future.
