Lucid Gravity in Europe: just the longest range for a super SUV

The Lucid Gravity is the electric SUV with the longest range in the world, says Lucid itself. The Gravity lands on European soil for the first time in Geneva, but will potentially have to compete with… Peugeot for its range claim.

Lucid is not only presenting all kinds of new versions of the already well-known Lucid Air in Geneva, but also the Lucid Gravity. That car reportedly appears here in European trim, although the car captured by colleague Joas differs very little from the Gravity that we saw earlier. That car also did not have the ‘side markers’ required in America, so only the color and the presence of a ‘license plate’ of European size make it different. The message is equally clear: Lucid’s first SUV is coming, also in Europe.

Lucid is of course obliged to acknowledge that it has become a special device. The company likes to pride itself on the compactness and energy efficiency of its electric motors and claims that the Lucid Gravity is the SUV with the longest electric range. Although gravity undoubtedly has a good grip on this automotive colossus, it has at best 708 kilometers in it. That is indeed a lot, but there is a much less expensive privateer on the coast: Peugeot also promises a range of about 700 kilometers for the new e-3008. In any case, charging is extremely fast at Lucid: thanks to 900V technology, you should be able to milk such a Fastned station with up to 300 kW. There will be versions with 88, 93, 112 and 118 kWh battery capacity, but prices are not yet known. That will take some time: production of the Lucid Gravity will start at the end of 2024.
