Geely’s Lynk & Co has released the first records of a new variant of crossover 02. The Lynk & Co 02 gets a sporty version that is knocked to the ground and stripped of its crossover look. The sportiest version of the 02 gets the striking addition Hatchback after its name.
Lynk & Co will start its European adventure later this year with the 01. The Geely brand and thus one of Volvo’s Chinese sister brands already has a wider model range in China. Lynk & Co, for example, has the 02 presented three years ago on the menu. The 02 is, in a nutshell, a slightly smaller version of the 01. The car measures 4.45 meters in length and has a 2.7 meter wheelbase. Lynk & Co now presents a sporty variant of that crossover called 02 Hatchback.
Lynk & Co 02
Lynk & Co 02 has in its strongest form a 190 hp strong blown 2.0 under the hood. This 02 Hatchback also has a 2.0 turbo engine, although that machine in the sporty 02 brother delivers 254 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Do we know that machine from somewhere? Certainly, Volvo delivers it as a T5 in the XC60, among other things. The 02 Hatchback thus sprints to a speed of 100 km / h in just over 6 seconds. The petrol engine sends its power via an eight-speed automatic transmission from Aisin to the front wheels.
The Lynk & Co 02 Hatchback (photos 1 to 4) is in fact a closer to the asphalt version of the 02 (photos 5 and 6) that has been stripped of typical cross elements such as black plastic wheel arch edges. At the bottom of the rear are two sets of twin tailpipes to enhance the car’s sporty image. In addition, the 02 Hatchback has sportier looking bumpers, side skirts, black accents and special alloy. The shape of the upper grille in the front bumper is also slightly different. As far as is known, Lynk & Co has no plans yet to bring the 02 and thus this 02 Hatchback to Europe.
