macOS 15.2: Add menu bar weather widget for quick access to weather forecast

Since macOS Sequoia 15.2, you can use a mini weather widget that you can add to your Mac’s menu bar. By clicking on the weather symbol, you will see a weather forecast for the coming period.

The weather widget for macOS also has another function. You can view the current weather conditions at your location directly from the menu bar. In the menu bar you can see the temperature and weather conditions. Handy.

Enable menu bar weather widget for Mac

  • Open System Settings via  ▸ System Settings
  • Go to ‘Control panel’
  • Scroll down to ‘Only in menu bar’
  • Click the drop-down menu next to ‘Weather’
  • Choose ‘Show in menu bar’

Immediately, the mini weather widget is added to the macOS menu bar. Then you can click on the weather widget to open the weather forecast. This way you will see the current temperature, but also the weather conditions, weather forecast for the next few hours and the weather at other locations that you have set in the Weather app.

In the menu bar you can also immediately view the outside temperature and weather conditions at your current location.
