1.5 times M5

The new BMW M5 is fast approaching, but first we turn our attention to the outgoing top version of the 5-series. This has been taken to absurd heights by Manhart.
BMW, Mercedes and Audi have been involved in a horsepower race for years, but this also applies to the tuners who then make off with the cars. Manhart is now making a significant contribution with a BMW M5, renamed MH5 900. The ‘900’ in the name already indicates it somewhat: this creation is no less than one and a half times as strong as a regular BMW M5. Swallow. Manhart speaks about his strongest creation ever based on the 5-series.
Manhart did not just choose an M5 as the basis for the MH5, but the M5 Competition. The 4.4-biturbo V8 is already 25 hp stronger than that in the basic M5 and, thanks to Manhart’s upgrades, is now good for another 303 hp more! The power now amounts to 928 hp and there is up to 1,230 Nm of torque available. This is the result of different engine management and, among other things, modified turbos with carbon fiber inlets and new intercoolers. The pistons and connecting rods have also been replaced by ones that can handle more power. That doesn’t seem like an unnecessary luxury to us. A modified exhaust system is also available and you can open or close valves as desired to let the sound be heard in full glory or to give your neighbors some peace and quiet when you drive down the street.
It is not yet known what the power spurt will do to the performance figures. It is clear that Manhart has not only focused on technology. The MH5 900 is a striking appearance, with its carbon fiber extras all around and gold-colored striping. If possible, the German tuner makes it even more colorful in the interior. The gentlemen and ladies from Wuppertal provided the MH5 900 with, among other things, a partly orange-colored sky with luminous ‘stars’ in it. Furthermore, space has been made in one of the ventilation grilles for an extra screen, which shows, for example, the turbo pressure. Only five BMW M5 Competitions will be transformed into Manhart MH5 900.
