Maserati also goes for a 10-year warranty

After Toyota and Lexus, another manufacturer goes for a 10-year warranty. This time it is Maserati that extends its warranty period to 10 years, although there are conditions attached to it. This is because it concerns the possibility of extending the normal warranty period.

Maserati presents the Extra10 Warranty Program, a warranty program that makes it possible to extend the regular factory holiday to 10 years in various steps. It is therefore a supplement to the usual warranty period. Until now, you could extend the regular factory warranty through the Maserati Extended Warranty Program in two steps to a maximum of 7 years. In addition, the warranty of up to 10 years only applies to parts of the powertrain, such as the engine and gearbox.

As with Toyota and Lexus, the additional warranty is available on all models of the brand, provided the car in question is less than 10 years old. In addition, there is a maximum mileage for activating the extra warranty years. With the previous warranty program you could extend the 3-year factory warranty to 4 and 5 years, although it was only possible to get these extra years of coverage if the Maserati had driven a maximum of 130,000 kilometers (diesel: 150,000). In these extra warranty years, it was a full factory warranty.

Did you want a 6 or 7 year warranty afterwards? That was also possible, although the warranty would only apply to the powertrain, just like with the new option to extend the warranty from 7 years to 10 years. A maximum mileage was also linked to the extension of the warranty for a sixth or seventh year. For example, the mileage of a Maserati was not allowed to exceed 150,000 kilometers (diesel: 170,000) when the new warranty year was activated. What the new maximum mileages are for activating the warranty years after the seventh year is not yet known at the time of writing. AutoWeek is still awaiting a response from the importer.
