Maserati provides the Levante with electrical assistance. The Levante Hybrid, like the Ghibli Hybrid presented last year, has a mild hybrid petrol engine under the hood.
Maserati also cannot avoid electrifying its model range to reduce emissions and started with the Ghibli Hybrid. It got a 2.0 four-cylinder petrol engine with a turbo under the hood, equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid technology, to reduce consumption and emissions. For the Levante Hybrid, Maserati is walking a similar path. We know the Levante with a 3.0-liter V6 and a 3.8-liter V8, but it is the same 2.0 four-cylinder from the Ghibli that, along with the mild-hybrid technology, has been transferred to the Levante.
The mild hybrid system not only ensures better consumption, but also extra power. The new power source for the Levante produces 330 hp and 450 Nm. With that, he only leaves 20 hp and 50 Nm compared to the V6. The Levante Hybrid is therefore able to speed from 0 to 100 km / h in 6 seconds. Just as fast as the Levante with V6. The top speed is slightly lower at around 240 km / h. Switching is done with a well-known eight-speed automatic from ZF. The consumption of the Levante Hybrid is not yet known, but the CO2 emissions are between 231 and 252 g / km. At least 30 g / km less than with the V6, so you can bet that the bpm here will be a lot lower and the Levante therefore also more accessible. Incidentally, according to Maserati, we do not have to worry that the four-cylinder sounds a lot tamer than the V6, because they have worked on the acoustics of the exhaust system so that the SUV can still play a nice rumble.
To make the Levante Hybrid a bit distinctive for the eye, Maserati has provided the car with some details that it already has on the Ghibli Hybrid. For example, we see the characteristic blue accents for Maserati Hybrids, for example around the three ventilation grilles on the sides of the Levante. The brake calipers are also blue and the logo on the C-pillar has a blue accent. The car in these photos is painted in the three-layer metallic paint ‘Azzurro Astro’ which is part of Maserati’s Fuoriserie personalization program. In the interior, the blue color is also reflected in some details such as the stitching. Expect the Levante Hybrid on the market sometime in the second half of this year. Prices follow.
