Hard as nails

Is the money sloshing you against the skirting boards and do you have no idea what to do with your money? Please consider contacting Maserati. The Italians are happy to deliver one of the 62 copies of the Maserati MCXtrema to you.
The Maserati, specially intended for ultimate fun on the track, which started its life digitally last year as Project24, is now completely finished. The transition from virtual to tangible goes hand in hand with a name change. The extreme Maserati is now called MCXtrema, but is based on the MC20, just like the Project24.
Although you may still recognize the MC20 in the middle part of Maserati’s circuit toy, the front and rear are completely different and, in particular, have a much more angular design. According to Maserati, the high front screens are a nod to the Tipo 61 from 1959, also known as ‘Birdcage’. The rear lights are also striking. They are made up of three horizontal parts and refer to the Trident in the Maserati emblem.
The Maserati MCXtrema, overloaded with exuberant spoiler work and a fierce diffuser, has the Nettuno V6 behind the front seats, just like the MC20, although the six-cylinder is 110 hp more powerful than the one in the MC20 thanks to two new turbos. The power: 730 hp and 730 Nm. Switching is done with a sequential six-speed gearbox.
Maserati MCXtrema: also focused on track use on the inside.
The MCXtrema is 5.2 meters long and weighs only about 1,300 kilograms and has an extremely bare interior that offers space only for the driver. At least, basically. A passenger seat is optionally available. Each copy is tailored to the buyer. For example, the positioning of the steering wheel and pedals is adapted to the driver. So keep that in mind if you ever buy a used copy. The MCXtrema does not have a regular dashboard, but instead a rectangular steering wheel with a display on which the most important information is conjured up. The driver is surrounded by interesting-looking islands of buttons. Six-point seat belts and a roll cage are always present, as is a fire extinguisher. Air conditioning is also present, so on the circuit you won’t sweat yourself soaking wet from your Maserati.
Maserati will only produce 62 MCXtrema units. It is purely a track-oriented model, which means that it is not homologated for street use. Maserati does not disclose what the MCXtremas cost.
