A brand new mid-engined supercar is roaring in the Maserati development chambers. The Italian manufacturer shows more of the muscle bundle that is in the pipeline today through a teaser video.
Through its social channels, Maserati shares a video, which lasts only six seconds, showing the manufacturer snippets of the MC20. The MC20 is a new supercar that, unlike cars like the Granturismo, does not get its engine in its muzzle, but behind the front seats. A coupé with a centrally placed heart, and not just any.
Although Maserati hangs the Ferrari-produced V8 on the willows, the MC20 gets a completely new V6 down to the smallest bolt that, according to its developers, is laced with Formula 1-derived technology. The in-house developed six-cylinder has a lung capacity of 3.0 liters and is equipped with not one, but two turbos. The double six-seater, which is called Nettuno, will soon deliver a very respectable 630 hp and 730 Nm. Maximum torque is released at 3,000 rpm. The rev limiter does not come into effect until 8,000 rpm. The new engine includes a pre-combustion chamber and two spark plugs per cylinder.
On September 9, Maserati will present the MC20 to the world. The world thus gets to know the new exotic later than planned. After all, the launch of the model was initially planned for May. This year you can count on even more Maserati news. This month, the brand also shows what it wants to bring to the market in the coming years. Exciting!
