‘clown show’

Max Verstappen has been extremely critical of the organization of the ‘Virtual Le Mans’ in which he participated last weekend. He dropped out due to technical problems. According to the two-time F1 champion, the event was badly organized.
Max Verstappen participated with Team Redline in the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend. The sim race was the last race in the e-sports championship ‘Le Mans Virtual Series’ and the Verstappen team had a chance to win the title. It previously won the 4 Hours of Monza in this championship, was second in the 6 Hours of Spa and third in the 8 Hours of Bahrain. During the 24 Hours of Le Mans, however, things went wrong when the connection was broken several times. Verstappen’s team was therefore eventually kicked out of the race. The problem was not a bad connection on the part of Verstappen and his fellow drivers, but on the servers of the Virtual Le Mans Series.
Verstappen usually does not mince words and did not do so now. The Dutchman was furious about the state of affairs. “This was an embarrassment to the sim racing community and all the major brands and drivers that competed.” According to him, Verstappen and his colleagues have prepared for five months, of which two months for this race. “And then you get this. This was disastrous.” According to the 25-year-old driver, this was the last straw, it also went wrong before. “I will never participate again and that is due to your (the organization, ed.) Incompetence. I hope that many people will follow my example and that we can build something beautiful somewhere else. All teams and drivers deserve that.”
The Red Bull driver let in a video remember that he removes the program rFactor, which was raced, from his computer. “Saved me some space on my PC again. Hopefully everyone will uninstall the game.” It is a rather fierce statement towards the organization of the virtual championship, but Verstappen receives a lot of support on social media. Fortunately, the Dutchman can get back to work in Formula 1 in March, where these kinds of problems are not lurking. March 5 is the first Grand Prix of the new season in Bahrain.
