Max Verstappen seems pretty relaxed in the run-up to the new Formula 1 season. The two-time world champion has ‘faith in the team’ and knows there is already a good foundation to build on.

After an extremely dominant 2022, Red Bull has good credentials to rule the roost again in 2023 and Verstappen sees no reason why this year should not be a success. “We have a very competitive car and I think a lot of good ideas. The fact that Red Bull has less wind tunnel time than last year, even less than expected due to a penalty, does not immediately worry him. “It will have an effect, but how much? I don’t know yet. I’m confident that the team can use that as extra motivation to get even better, while the people we have of course already deliver the best.” Now we have to wait for the winter test in Bahrain (23, 24 and 25 February) to get a first indication whether the RB19 is indeed competitive. The car will be unveiled on February 3, although we will probably only see a ‘stripped’ demo model then.
