Maxus gets Dutch distributor

The Chinese company Maxus has appointed the Belgian Alcomotive Group as distributor of its models. That company is now also responsible for supplying the brand’s electric orderers in the Netherlands.

Maxus puts the distribution pressure on the shoulders of the Belgian Alcomotive. That company will have to ensure that the electric vans conquer the European market. Alcomotive was already a distributor of Maxus in Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland and is now also in the Netherlands and Germany.

Maxus is part of the Chinese SAIC, a giant that sold over 7 million cars worldwide last year. Alcomotive will supply the electric delivery vans from Maxus via a so-called Maxomotive organization. In the Netherlands, this means that it is arranged via a dealer network that currently has around twenty sales and service points.

The Maxus, which is available immediately, is the now very old EV80, the basis of which dates from 2004. Initially, the bus is available with a luggage space of 11 to 15 cubic meters. Prices for the bus that has to travel 154 kilometers (WLTP) start at € 49,900. Via a DC charger, the 56 kWh battery is full within 2 hours, while an AC charger takes 8.5 hours.

From September the more compact eDeliver3 and Deliver3 will be added to the range. Buyers can choose from a 35 or 53 kWh battery that powers the 123 hp electric motor. Depending on the version chosen, this more compact van will travel 226 or 342 kilometers. The payload is 1,020 kg and prices start at € 31,990. The Deliver 9, a bus based on the Ford Transit, will also be available this summer. Unlike its delivery brothers, the Deliver 9 is not yet available with an electric drivetrain. Under the hood is a 163 hp and 375 Nm strong diesel engine.
