Mazda CX-60 already on display

Mazda CX-60

Mazda will bring two brand new SUVs to the European market next year, one of which we can already show you. This is the CX-60, a new, in principle, rear-wheel drive SUV that will be launched not only with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, but also with a six-in-line petrol engine.

Mazda will cut the CX-3 from the European delivery range next year, but on the other hand it will add two brand new SUVs. That will be the CX-60 and the CX-80. The CX-60 can already be seen quite well in a video from CSK Review Channel, which has since been removed from YouTube.

The CX-60 was caught while shooting a promotional video of Mazda’s youngest. The CX-60 will be a new five-seat two-row SUV, while the three-row CX-80 will accommodate seven passengers. Perhaps even more interesting is the technology that hides under the carriage. Mazda puts both the CX-60 and the CX-80 on a brand new rear-wheel drive platform and not only brings plug-in hybrid technology to the two. They also get six-in-line petrol engines.

New platform

Mazda recently pulled the curtain on the CX-50, an SUV developed specifically for the United States that will be carried alongside the CX-5. Mazda has not yet released dimensions and information about the platform of that model. Although the CX-60 in these photos bears strong resemblance to the CX-50, the two do not appear to be technically related. The CX-50 uses the platform of the Mazda 3 and CX-30, while the base of the CX-60 (and XC-80) is completely new.

Although the CX-60 in these images does not have plastic wheel arch edges, it is quite possible that there will be a version that does have such external decoration. After all, the CX-5 renewed in September was given a variant with adventurous extras for the first time, which listens to the name Newground. The CX-60 will be presented next year, just like the CX-80. So just wait a little longer!
