Smart move?

The brand new Mazda that we recently showed you in a teaser image is now completely official. Meet the Mazda EZ-6: an electric sedan that would be interesting for the Netherlands, but which may completely miss the boat to Europe.
The Mazda 6 is no more. Not even in China, despite models there being regularly granted a longer life than here. In what form will Mazda give the 6 a successor? That is not yet completely clear, although it seems to want to replace the middle class with an electric model that may be called 6e. And in China? Mazda presented this Mazda EZ-6 together with joint venture partner Changan.
The Mazda EZ-6 is 4.92 meters long, 1.89 meters wide and 1.49 meters high. Those dimensions make it about 5 centimeters longer than the defunct 6 Sedan. In terms of design, the EZ-6 does not completely break with what you already know from Mazda. The Changan-Mazda designers have, however, given the car with sleeker lines. We see flat, sharply drawn headlights and also a rear light section for which a ruler was used while sketching it. An active rear spoiler is integrated into the buttocks. In the Mazda EZ-6, in addition to beautiful-looking leather and Alcantara, we also see a large 14.6-inch infotainment screen. Changan-Mazda speaks of the presence of mood lighting with 64 adjustable colors. A panoramic glass roof is part of the Chinese-Japanese pampering party.
Unfortunately, extensive technical data is not yet available. We do know that the electric EZ-6 will also have a variant with a range extender that will probably be called EZ-60. The Mazda EZ-6 is built on a platform developed jointly by Mazda and Changan. Next year the partnership will launch two more new models.
Would you like the Mazda EZ-6 for the Dutch market? Why or why not?
