The Mazda RX-Vision was introduced to the world in 2015 as a prelude to a new sports car with a Wankel engine. The stunning coupe received a lot of praise, but unfortunately no concrete follow-up. The model is now reviving in the digital world, as the RX-Vision GT3 Concept.
Unfortunately: the car you see here only exists on a screen. Still, it’s interesting to see what happens when Mazda’s interesting show car is turned into a GT3 racer. The game makers of Gran Turismo have not made it easy for themselves and come with an extremely realistic representation of an RX-Vision (the regular one can be found in photo 4 and further) for circuit use. A huge but in the style of the car rear wing is the biggest eye-catcher. There are also solidly developed wheel arches. At the front, these are underlined by striking “gills” behind the wheels, while the extension at the rear is particularly noticeable because the side screen is now clearly pushed outwards than the door. A huge splitter and deep, impressive cooling opening in the hood contribute to the “racy” look of this digital dream coupe.
However, the details have also been considered. We see the right wheels and tires, a towing eye, visible bonnet lock, a vertically resting wiper, a special fuel cap and even the mandatory stickers in racing that refer to emergency facilities. The exhaust ending behind the front wheels would undoubtedly produce a glorious sound in real life, because the core of the car remains a wobbly engine. The makers aim for a virtual power of 570 hp on a car weight of 1250 kg, although it is of course just what figure the developers beat.
Gran Turismo Sport players will be offered the previously announced RX-Vision GT3 via an update on May 25. Now that many have been condemned to exist within the walls of the house, the car may well become a popular pastime.
