Nearly 700 horsepower of plug-in power?
Tomorrow Mercedes-Benz will pull the curtain on the absolute top model of the C-class. We now officially know what that new AMG stunner will be called and that it will be born immediately as a Limousine and as an Estate.
It is now equally known that the still brand new Mercedes-Benz C-class always has a four-cylinder under the hood. Regardless of the implementation. This was already reflected in the first AMG version of the model, the C 43 with 408 hp 2.0 four-cylinder instead of a smooth V6. The C 43 will soon get an even stronger AMG flavor. It no longer gets an eight-cylinder, but also a four-cylinder. We suspected that new C 63-esque would get acclaim from plug-in hybrid hardware and now that Mercedes-Benz is releasing the name of the new AMG executioner of the C-Class, we know for sure.
The new sporty top model of the C-class is called in full Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance. You have already seen the E Performance part of the name with the AMG GT 4-Door 63 SE Performance and also points to a plug-in hybrid powertrain there. For the shape, Mercedes-Benz releases one last teaser plate of the C 63 SE Performance, but on it we only see a headlight.
Tomorrow afternoon the Mercedes-AMG C 63 SE Performance will make its public debut. That promises to be a pretty intense model, because there is talk of 680 hp and 750 Nm of hybrid power. For comparison: the previous C-class had a 510 hp 4.0 V8 as the C 63 AMG.
