Mercedes-AMG has again picked a piece of camouflage material from the new C63 Estate. Our spy photographer once again captured the practical powerhouse, which already gives a nice picture of the final result.
The new Mercedes-AMG C63 had already been spotted with a camouflage skin, as Sedan and Estate. With those prototypes, both the lighting and the front and rear bumper were well covered, so that the final shape was still difficult to determine. In this prototype, however, the large air intakes in the front bumper and the Panamericana grille are clearly visible. This does not bring any major surprises, because the approach is similar to that of the outgoing C63. At the rear, that predictability continues. Four large tailpipes protrude from the rear bumper and a diffuser with multiple fins can be seen. It also seems that the prototype has a recess for a towbar. Useful.

Furthermore, the test car rolls at the front and rear on different wheels. Whether those wheel designs will eventually find their way to the configurator remains a guess. The large brake discs behind the front wheels also reveal that the necessary violence is hidden under the hood of the C63. Mercedes-AMG has already explained the powertrain in its electrification plans. Under the hood will be a longitudinally placed 2.0 four-cylinder turbo, a further development of the M139 engine from the A45 S. That power source must deliver 450 hp, an electric motor on the rear axle then kicks the system power to more than 650 hp. Much more than the 510 hp of the BMW M3 Competition.
It is obvious that a less powerful version of the C63 will also be on the price list. Under the C63 there will in any case also be a milder AMG variant of the C-class, which will be called ‘C43’ or ‘C53’. It will be presented first later this year, with the C63 and C63S to follow.
