Mercedes-Benz is working hard to expand its all-electric EQ model line. The EQE is next on the roll and Mercedes-AMG has already been involved in this.
The slippery Mercedes-Benz EQS will soon have a ‘little’ brother in the form of the EQE. Just as the EQS is the electric counterpart to the S-class, the EQE is for the E-class. As can be clearly seen, the EQE has the necessary similarities with the EQS. Again, a carriage that is quite streamlined in shape and lacking the usual angular shapes of the more traditionally powered models.
Fully electric drive and the most efficient aerodynamics do not automatically mean that there is no more room for sporty fun. Mercedes-AMG has also been called in to work with the EQ models. Here we see the result for the EQE. The large sporty alloy wheels with huge brake discs behind them reveal that we are dealing here with the sporty version of the EQE. Although everything is still nicely packed, it is not to be missed that the front bumper with slightly larger inlets looks a bit sportier than that of the recently spotted regular EQE. The Mercedes-AMG also seems slightly thicker along the flanks.
For the time being, it is guessing how much electrical power the Mercedes-AMG EQE will get at its disposal. The EQS even comes as ‘non-AMG’ well above 500 hp, so we can count on it that this EQE also at least achieves that. Not a superfluous luxury, because despite its undoubtedly very low cW value, the EQE has to compensate for another major disadvantage; its weight. The EQS ticks 2.5 tons and the weight of the EQE will probably also exceed 2,000 pounds. The Mercedes-Benz EQE will be unveiled in September, the Mercedes-AMG is expected to arrive later this year.
