After the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic, the home tuner from Affalterbach is working on an extra hot version of the EQE. Mercedes-AMG has dropped some camouflage, giving us a better idea of what this ‘AMG EQE’ will look like.
We do not yet know the exact designation of the AMG variant of the EQE, but it is very likely that it will receive the addition ’53’, just like its big brother. It is also possible that Mercedes-AMG is looking for a number that is lower on the ladder, if the EQE receives less power than the 658 hp strong EQS 53. Nothing is known about this for the time being, but in any case count on a power of well above the 500 hp for the hot EQE.
In any case, the spy shots show that the well-trained EQE takes over some details from its big brother. That starts with the front bumper, where the ‘air inlets’ on either side get two bars. Furthermore, a front spoiler stands out that is quite similar to that of the EQS. The grille is still taped, but you can bet that behind the tape is a closed version of the trademark ‘Panamericana’ grille from Mercedes-AMG.

At the rear, the six-air diffuser – again the same number as on the EQS -, the spoiler lip on the boot lid and the slots behind the wheel arches stand out as AMG details. The large brake discs behind the wheels also betray the performance potential of this plug-in. This means that the external adjustments remain relatively subtle. There are no images of the interior, but if AMG continues the line of the EQS there, you can count on an AMG sauce of, among other things, sports seats and a sports steering wheel, sports pedals and special floor mats.
The market launch of the EQE is planned for the middle of next year. The Mercedes-AMG is expected to be unveiled in the relatively short term.
