Mercedes-AMG GT more powerful, expresses GT S from the range

Mercedes-AMG streamlines the offer of the AMG GT slightly. The ‘entry-level’, the regular GT, gets more power and makes the GT S unnecessary.

Lately there has been enough to report about the Mercedes-AMG GT. The blood-curdlingly fast Black Series was revealed recently, which also appears in F1 colors, and the first prizes were announced shortly after. Now there is news on the other side of the AMG GT spectrum. After all, the offer starts with the regular AMG GT, the version that, among other things, has to do without an absurdly large rear spoiler and also keeps it quiet in terms of other aerodynamic smarts. However, it is not Mak either; The GT gets 476 hp from the 4.0-liter biturbo V8. At least, because the GT gets a power cure. The ‘starter’ now has 530 hp at its disposal.

The revised GT, which will be available from November, will now receive standard AMG Ride Control in addition to a power boost, which ensures that the GT’s dampers adapt optimally to the situation. The electronically controlled rear differential is also standard on the GT. It is not bad that the lowest AMG GT on the list enters the fairway of the 523 hp GT S. The GT S is simply removed from the list. From now on, the party starts with the 530 hp GT, above which we find the GT C with an output of 558 hp. The GT R and GT R Pro are above that with their 585 hp. The crème de la crème is of course the 730 hp Black Series.

Anyone who likes ‘Black’, but thinks the Black Series is too bizarre or too expensive, can now opt for the ‘Night Edition’. Then the AMG GT body is finished in matte black, with (with the coupé) extra dark accents on the roof. Black alloy (19-inch front and 20-inch rear), a black grille and darker headlights are also included.
