Mercedes-Benz EQE: more engine versions, including AMG 53 4Matic

Until now, Mercedes-Benz only supplied the EQE as a 350+ and in an AMG flavour: the EQE 43 AMG 4Matic. From now on, however, the electric EQE is also available as a 300, as a 350 ‘without plus’, as a 500 and as the new AMG topper EQE 53 AMG 4Matic.

With the arrival of the new 300 version, the starting price of the EQE drops by just under €10,000. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 300 has a starting price of €69,202 and is available as Business Line, Luxury Line and AMG Line. Like the 350(+), the EQE 300 is a rear-wheel drive, but with 245 hp it is slightly less powerful than the 292 hp EQE’s 350. The EQE 300 has 89 kWh of net battery capacity and is therefore good for a range of up to 629 kilometers . In 7.3 seconds, the new entry-level version zooms from the electric equivalent of the E-class to 100 km/h. Its top speed is 210 km/h.

Mercedes-Benz EQE 350, 350 4Matic and 350+ Long Range

The EQE 350+ will continue to exist, but that ‘plus variant’ is now only available in one version. The EQE 350+ now gets the addition Long Range after its name and costs at least €79,850. Just like the new plus-less EQE 350 – which we will come back to in a moment – this engine version has a 292 hp electric motor on the rear axle. The acceleration from standstill to a speed of 100 km/h is also equal to that of the EQE 350 in 6.4 seconds, the same applies to the top speed of 210 km/h. According to the specifications, the EQE 350+ Long Range has a net battery capacity of 90.6 kWh instead of 89 kWh. That seems like a negligibly small difference, so we ask what exactly it is. The EQE 350+ Long Range comes up to 659 kilometers on a full battery and is therefore the EQE with the longest breath.

The EQE 350 ‘without plus’ always has 292 hp, but as mentioned, it is available with rear and four-wheel drive. However, the version with 4Matic drive has the same 90.6 kWh of available battery capacity as the 350+ Long Range. As a Luxury Line, the EQE 350 costs at least €81,060 and has a range of 629 kilometers. The EQE 350 4Matic has a starting price of €84,085 and comes up to 587 kilometers on a full charge.

Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic

The EQE 500 4Matic is completely new. This always four-wheel drive variant has two 408 hp electric motors with which it sprints to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The EQE 500 4Matic has 90.6 kWh of battery capacity and can therefore reach a distance of 519 kilometers. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4Matic is only available as the AMG Line.

Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+

The already well-known 476 hp first AMG version of the Mercedes-Benz EQE is joined by the much more powerful EQE 53 4Matic+. The EQE 53 4Matic+ has two together no less than 687 hp and 1,000 Nm strong electric motors with which you can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The top speed of the EQE 53 4Matic+ at 240 km/h is higher than that of the milder AMG 43 4Matic (210 km/h). The starting price of this absolute topper of the EQE range is set at €126,435. On a full charge you can travel up to 472 kilometers with it.
