Mercedes-Benz is busy with the EQS; its fully electrically powered flagship. In any case, the electrical topper cannot be stopped by the weather during test work.
This year Mercedes-Benz is pushing forward perhaps its most important car in decades with the EQS. A fully electrically powered top model, which should be the alternative for those who do not think the S-class is even progressive enough. Not only the drive is a distinctive element of the EQS, the carriage is certainly also. Now that some more camouflage has been removed, it is easy to see that the hefty car is a five-door with a very fluid silhouette from front to back. From a traditional three-box-design as with the S-class is not really there. Especially the very sloping ‘hood’ is striking.
The EQS is undoubtedly packed with the latest technologies in the field of infotainment and autonomous driving, but of course the range is also interesting. Previously, Mercedes-Benz already stated that it – probably with the top versions – should exceed 700 km (WLTP). The EQS probably also holds its own in terms of power. Count on at least around 500 electric horsepower, probably provided by two electric motors, one per axle. For screen enthusiasts, the best news is probably the ‘Hyperscreen’. This is a screen spread over the entire width of the dashboard on which the latest version of MBUX is running and, among other things, the digital instruments and visual simulations can be seen.
The unveiling of the EQS is very likely to take place in the first half of the year, so definitely expect more news about the electric top limo in the coming months. In addition, we also expect the smaller EQE and the SUV equivalent of the EQE in the near future.
