7.2 percent profit
With a Cw value of 0.20, the Mercedes-Benz EQS is the most aerodynamic production car at the moment. You would expect that nothing can be improved upon, but tuner Brabus managed to do it with a few upgrades.
Where Brabus is normally known for fairly extreme creations, the adjustments to the EQS are certainly not too bad when viewed from the front. If the big ‘B’ wasn’t in the place of the Mercedes logo, you might think that the car just has an AMG package. Still, the adjustments are there: under the front bumper is a spoiler lip and there are extra air guides in front of the front and rear fenders. At the rear, the changes are a lot more noticeable. Brabus screws a carbon fiber diffuser under the rear bumper of the EQS and the electric hatchback gets a large spoiler lip. These exterior changes are not just for show: they reduce the amount of lift by 40 percent and make the car more stable on the road.
Brabus offers a choice of different wheel designs for the EQS, but the biggest aerodynamic gain is achieved with the 22-inch ‘Monoblock M’ wheels that are shown in the first photo above this article. In addition, thanks to an adjustment of the air suspension, the EQS is closer to the asphalt if desired: 15 millimeters at the front and 20 millimeters at the rear. Brabus says that the Cw value of the EQS with these wheels and the other adjustments decreases by 7.2 percent. In theory, that should lead to some extra kilometers of range. In the interior, the adjustments with special door sills, aluminum pedals and floor mats are limited.
Brabus can only mount the upgrades for the exterior on EQS’s that are executed as AMG-Line. The price is on request, but given that everything is made of carbon fiber, you don’t have to count on a limited amount.
