Mercedes-Benz has presented a very eccentric G-class in collaboration with fashion house Moncler. As if it were a mannequin, the Project Mondo G wears the G-class one puffer jacket.
Every so often, Mercedes-Benz enters into a partnership with a hip party to draw attention to itself in a special way. For example, last year the brand teamed up with none other than Will.I.am, resulting in the Will I AMG ‘The Flip’. This time, Mercedes-Benz fashion house Moncler joins in. Moncler is known for its puffer jackets, shiny quilted jackets that the G-class is now dressed with.
The Project Mondo G G-class is a downright bizarre appearance that was presented as part of London Fashion Week at an event attended by artists such as Alicia Keys, Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z. A lot of visual bombardment, appropriate to the car in question. The Project Mondo G stands on huge balloon tires and has a striking shiny whole on the back, complete with – yes – a zipper. The creation is 4.6 meters long, 3.4 meters wide, 2.8 meters high and weighs a very modest 2,500 kilos.
