Just plug in
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé was recently only placed on the Dutch price lists with plug-in hybrid powertrains. What seems? The Mercedes-Benz GLC without Coupé addition is now only available as a plug-in hybrid.
Until recently, Mercedes-Benz supplied the GLC as GLC 200, GLC 300, and as GLC 220d and GLC 300d and in a set of plug-in hybrid flavors. Those regular petrol and diesel versions are currently no longer available in the Netherlands. Anyone who now orders a new Mercedes-Benz GLC can only choose from plug-in hybrids.
Fortunately for the GLC buyer, there is also quite a bit to choose from when it comes to plug-in hybrid powertrains. The model is available as a GLC 300e, as a GLC 400e and as a GLC 300de. The GLC 300e 4Matic has a 204 hp and 320 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder petrol engine that works together with an electric motor of 136 hp and 440 Nm. The system power is 313 hp and 550 Nm. The GLC 400e 4Matic also has a 2.0 petrol engine, although it is more powerful with 252 hp and 400 Nm than the one in the GLC 300e. Together with the same 136 hp electric motor, this results in a system power of 381 hp and 650 Nm. Diesel plug-in GLC 300de has a 197 hp and 440 Nm powerful 2.0 diesel engine that, together with the well-known electric motor, produces a combined power of 333 hp and 750 (!) Nm. With all plug-in hybrid GLCs you should be able to drive up to about 130 kilometers electrically thanks to the 31.2 kWh battery.
