Personalization is ‘hot’, so Mercedes-Benz is shifting to the next gear in that area. Under the name ‘Manufaktur’, the brand comes up with more and new products to decorate your Mercedes entirely to your own liking.
Manufaktur replaces the existing personalization offer and also the Designo label that the brand used for years. If the name sounds familiar to you, that’s not surprising, because there was already a ‘G Manufaktur’ based on the G-class. The new Manufaktur range is initially available for the long-wheelbase S-Class, the Maybach-S, the CLS and the AMG GT 4-Door. Still clear for models at the top of the range, and remarkably enough not yet for SUVs.
In the Manufaktur range you will mainly find paint colours, leather types and interior decoration. In the case of the S-class, which also serves as a demonstration car, the ‘Manufaktur’ is also clearly written on the center console. This car is finished in Manufaktur ‘Vintageblau’, which resembles what was delivered in the 1990s on the W123, among others. Thanks to radiant white and deep black upholstery, the interior is a feast for those who love contrast. As far as we are concerned, the whole still looks quite stylish, but without a doubt you can also go to Manufaktur if stylish is not your thing. After all, it’s about personalization.
In the future, the Manufaktur range will be expanded to other models, including electric EQ models.
