Spyshots Mercedes-Maybach EQS

You can already knock on Mercedes-Benz for Maybach versions of the S and GLS class. The car in these photos seems to be the electric equivalent of the latter, probably because the Mercedes-Maybach EQS is zooming past in these photos.

Do you think a GLS is not sufficiently equipped after checking all option packages? No problem, the SUV also exists as an opulent Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Indeed, just like the S-class, there is a Maybach of that SUV. The GLS shares its role as the top SUV in the Mercedes range with the electric EQS. This also results in a Maybach flavor overloaded with extra shimmer and visual delight. That it came, however, is no great surprise.

Mercedes-Maybach Concept EQS

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV (Concept, 2021)

Rewind to September 2021. That’s when Mercedes-Benz parked the Mercedes-Maybach EQS on the exhibition floor of the IAA in Munich. That EQS SUV was a study model that not only looked ahead to the EQS SUV, which had never been shown at the time, but also to a Maybach variant. The partially wrapped EQS in these photos has a taped grille and taped bumpers, suggesting typical Maybach elements are hiding underneath. In any case, count on an EQS with a more present ‘grille’ than the already known models.

Of course, Mercedes-Benz will soon fill the Maybach EQS with all the goodies it has to offer in terms of pampering. Think of spacious seats in the back, footrests, cushions, a champagne cooler and everything else you expect in a private jet. In addition, Mercedes-Benz certainly has the most powerful powertrain in the Maybach. The regular EQS SUV delivers in its most potent form 544 hp and 858 Nm. The Mercedes-Maybach EQS will certainly not be inferior to that.
