MG Cyberstar

The special MG Cyberstar has fewer and fewer secrets in store for us. Now the interior is clearly visible for the first time and a hint about the driving range seems to be hidden there.

MG will bring the Cyberster to Europe next year, but the first copy has already landed in ‘homeland’ United Kingdom. For the first time we now see the MG Cyberster intended for Europe, so no longer with Chinese characters on its butt and on the ‘number plates’. The biggest difference? The model name is centered on the back of the car instead of on the right. But that’s the least interesting thing we get to see. MG finally gives us a look inside the Cyberstar.

As you can see in the photo above, the Cyberster has an interior that is clearly designed mainly for the driver. There are no less than three screens on top of the dashboard and they all face the person behind the wheel. It is special yoke-like steering wheel, which seems more appropriate in a primarily sporty EV like the Cyberster than in a Tesla. A high center tunnel separates the two occupants from each other and because of the ‘rod’ that sticks out towards the dashboard, it will not be easy for the passenger to operate something on the center console. No, it’s all about the driver here.

In one of the images of the interior, we seem to see a battery percentage on the left screen, while the central screen shows the number of kilometers to be driven. A quick calculation shows that the 4.54 meter long MG Cyberster at 100 percent should have a driving range of about 570 km. That would be a lot less than the 800 km of the concept version, but is still a decent value. MG is still not commenting on performance figures, although we know that the Cyberster will get 314 hp and 340 hp rear-wheel drive versions in China. There will also be a four-wheel drive variant with two together more than 500 hp electric motors. The MG Cyberster will come to the Netherlands in the summer of 2024.
