Microlino 2.0 is upgraded electric “Isetta”

Micro Mobility Systems has presented a new version of its never-before-released Microlino, a small electric city car that will have to go into production next year.

A quick review. The Swiss Micro Mobility Systems showed the Microlino in 2016, a small urban EV whose strikingly designed bodywork strongly resembled that of the Isettas from the fifties and sixties. Tecno Meccanica Imola (TMI), now part of, was to build the car. Unfortunately, the cooperation was stopped because the agreement between the companies violated antitrust laws according to the German Federal Cartel Office. TMI then went ahead with the concept and decided to bring the car onto the market itself, something that, following a lawsuit in which Artega / TMI and Micro Mobility came to a settlement, resulted in the Karo-Isetta presented at the beginning of this year. to build. Now Micro Mobility is again making itself heard with a revised version of the original: the Microlino 2.0.

The modified version of the Microlino presented in 2016 has a renewed chassis with the rear wheels farther apart. Micro Mobility Systems promises improved stability and a more powerful and efficient electric motor, although the company keeps specific data on the powertrain for a while. The Microlino presented in 2016 (photos 9 and 10) was about 15 hp and 100 Nm strong. Furthermore, the new exterior is of course noticeable, with LED beams running across the entire width of both front and rear. The A-pillar is thinner than before and that naturally promotes all-round visibility. The Microlino 2.0 should go on sale next year. Micro Mobility Systems speaks of a starting price of around € 12,000.
