Microsoft’s new todo app replaces popular Wunderlist app

Microsoft has released a new tasks app with features from Wunderlist. The separate Wunderlist app will eventually close and make way for Microsoft To-Do.

Wunderlist will eventually disappear

Wunderlist is one of the best-known todo apps on iOS. Microsoft took over the app in 2015 and then development of Wunderlist continued as usual. That changes with the arrival of a new task app from Microsoft. It is simply called To-Do and was developed by the Wunderlist team.

Still, Wunderlist will not immediately disappear from the App Store, although that is the plan in the long term. “Only when we are sure that the best of Wunderlist can be found in To-Do, do we retire Wunderlist.” Microsoft hopes Wunderlist users will transition to To-Do. The company even states a tool available to transfer lists and to-do’s to the new app.

To-Do largely works like Wunderlist and looks just as nice. People can use the app to keep lists and make plans. The overview ‘My day’ is new. Here your plans hang on the current day and check them off upon completion. You can add notes to tasks and set a due date. In addition, it is possible to place memories, so that you really don’t forget anything. Every new day the list starts blank.

In addition, To-Do gives suggestions for new tasks over time, which you may not think of yourself. To do this, tap the light in the app. To-Do then shows your tasks from the day before and provides follow-up suggestions based on a smart algorithm. Conveniently, the lists are synchronized with all your devices, because you log in with an email address. A list that you make on the iPhone can also be viewed and adjusted on a PC.

To-Do is part of Office 365. The app already works together with Outlook, where the tasks can also be seen. Other Office 365 services will also be added in the coming months.
