Mike Manley will lead the American branch of Stellantis

Mike Manley, currently the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, will oversee Stellantis’ US operations. This keeps him in familiar territory.

At Stellantis, the group resulting from the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA, PSA CEO Carlos Tavares is in control. The future of FCA CEO Mike Manley was not yet clear. Now John Elkann, who will become chairman of Stellantis, announces that Manley will be the top executive of Stellantis in the Americas.

Manley’s new job is anything but a demotion and is seen as one of the most important functions within Stellantis. Indeed, a significant portion of FCA’s current sales take place in North and South America. PSA barely has a share in this and in that respect it is therefore also wise to put or keep the FCA top man on that post.

Now that it is clear that Manley will be given this task, the rumor that he will be the new Ferrari CEO also seems to be off the table. Former CEO Louis Camilleri recently resigned and Elkann has been in control on an interim basis ever since.
