Instead of an electric five-door hatchback

Mini comes with a crossover that puts it one step below the Countryman: the Aceman. The Mini Aceman will only be available with electric powertrains and now we have the first technical specifications of the electric crossover.
It was recently announced that the successor to the Mini Hatchback will soon be called simply Cooper. Furthermore, the first technical data of the Mini Cooper surfaced, in particular those of its electric variant. Again there will be an electric three-door, but the five-door, like the current model, only appears with combustion engines. Those who want a compact electric Mini with five doors and find the Countryman too big can go for the Aceman from 2025. Thanks to the normally well-informed BMW Blog, we now know more about the electric Mini Aceman.

The electric Mini Aceman comes on the market as E and as a sportier SE. Two versions, each with its own battery pack and electric motor. The Mini Aceman E would get a 184 hp electric motor that draws its zest for life from a 40-kWh battery. This combination should give the Aceman a range of 300 kilometers (WLTP). Above that will be the Mini Aceman SE. It will have an electric motor of 218 hp and a larger battery pack with a capacity of 54 kW. This means that the electric crossover must travel a maximum of 400 kilometers. That’s decent, but not earth-shattering. The current generation of electric compact crossovers from Stellantis kicks – depending on the model – now or later also up to 400 kilometers.
A packed test sample of the electric Mini Aceman.
The Concept Aceman that Mini served up at the end of July was 4.05 meters long. According to BMW Blog – which received its information from Mini itself during a presentation – the production version of the Mini Aceman will be 4.08 meters long. Its wheelbase is 2.6 meters. This will make the Aceman no less than 23 centimeters shorter than the current generation Countryman. That Countryman will be followed up this year by a completely new generation that is also growing a size. The Aceman and Countryman do not seem to get into each other’s wheels with that.
