Mini Countryman JCW

The new Mini Countryman appeared earlier this year as an entry-level Countryman C on the Dutch price list and now Mini is also adding the absolute top version of its SUV. What seems? The Mini Countryman JCW is no less than 1.7 times as expensive as the entry-level model.

The Mini Countryman C is the basic version of the new Countryman with combustion engines. That version has a 170 hp petrol engine and costs €45,990 in the Netherlands. The Countryman C is available with John Cooper Works decoration, among other things, but the real Mini Countryman JCW takes on the role of top version and that of course also includes a more powerful drivetrain. The Mini Countryman JCW has a 300 hp and 400 Nm strong 2.0 four-cylinder engine that you know from the M35i versions of the BMW X1 and X2. Mini asks at least €76,990 for it.

The Mini Countryman JCW is therefore 1.7 times more expensive than the cheapest Countryman C. Of course, you get a lot in return. In addition to the more powerful powertrain that allows the SUV to reach a speed of 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, the JCW version has all-wheel drive, a significantly sportier appearance, an adaptive suspension, 19-inch JCW wheels, four visible exhaust tips, full LED rear lights and headlights, an extensive audio system from Harman Kardon, sports seats, a sports steering wheel and – yes – a larger fuel tank! In the JCW it measures 54 liters, while in the Countryman C you can store 45 liters.

The prices of the electric Countryman will follow later. Indeed: the Mini Countryman will also be available with electric powertrains.
