The Mini model year 2021 from the rear
Actually it is time for the current mini generation to slowly prepare for retirement. It has been on the market for seven years, and it is usually about to be replaced in a car model life. But the Mini of the F56 series still has to withstand a little. A facelift should help him over the remaining years. It is the second after 2018.
It won’t be the big makeover. Mini rather uses the botox injection, not the scalpel. A few visual changes are pending, more equipment for the base and a few new options as an extra. From March 2021, three-door, five-door and convertibles will roll off the assembly line.
The biggest design change affects the front. A new grille frame now includes upper and lower air intakes as well as the bumper painted in body color. There are ventilation slots in the front apron instead of fog lights. The changes to the rear apron are much more subtle.
LED headlights as standard for the Mini
Three-door, five-door and convertibles now always come with LED headlights as standard. The LED rear lights in Union Jack design are also available at no extra charge. There’s a bit of fresh make-up for the turn signal surrounds in the front fenders. Optionally, there are also some aluminum rims in a new design and new colors for the sheet metal. If you like, you can have the roof painted in “multitone”. This is a multicolored paint with a gradient.

In the interior, Mini adapts the facelift to the electric model. As with the electric Mini Cooper SE, there is a digital instrument panel for the conventionally powered models. In future, a 5-inch screen will display the necessary information directly in front of the driver. Another display now appears as standard in the center console. The infotainment screen measures 8.8 inches and is surrounded by a frame in glossy black.
Nicer surfaces, a new design for the air vents and the standard sports leather steering wheel complete the innovations in the interior. New extras include a heating function for the valance in the car and an electronic parking brake. For a green conscience, customers will in future be able to order the sports seats with covers made from recycled material in “Light Checkered”.

Prices from 19,500 euros for the Mini One First
Mini is expanding its range of assistance systems for greater safety and comfort. In the future, the cruise control will not only keep the distance, but will also stop automatically in tough traffic and start moving again independently. The lane departure warning system should also work better. In addition, the adaptive chassis is being revised. Mini promises an “optimized balance between sportiness and driving comfort”.

Nothing will change in the range of engines for the facelift. The entry-level model is the Mini One First with 75 hp (55 kW) from a three-cylinder petrol engine. The Mini One develops 102 PS (75 kW) and is also powered by a three-cylinder, just like the Mini Cooper with 136 PS (100 kW). The sporty Cooper S is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 178 hp (131 kW). In combination with the optional 7-speed dual clutch transmission, it sprints to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds, and manual shifting takes a tenth more. The Cooper S can travel at a top speed of 235 km / h. Also on offer: the Mini John Cooper Works with 231 hp (170 kW) and 8-speed automatic as well as the electric Mini Cooper SE with 135 kW (184 hp). Prices start at 19,500 euros for the Mini One First with three doors. The Mini Cooper with 136 hp starts at 22,800 euros. For the five-door, 600 euros more are due, the convertible starts as a Mini One (102 PS) at 24,900 euros.
