Mini John Cooper Works Convertible also renewed

A strong wind of innovation is blowing at Mini. The brand recently carried out a facelift on its three and five-door hatchbacks, and the Cabrio and the electric Mini Electric were also highlighted very recently. Mini kept a loose moment of attention for the updated version of the John Cooper Works and today it is the turn of the Mini John Cooper Works Cabrio.

The renewed Mini compact model range recently got a new nose, a muzzle modeled on the three-door John Cooper Works in a more sporty shape and which now also comes to the cutaway version of that sporty Mini flavor. The canary yellow (Zesty Yellow) Mini John Cooper Works Cabrio in these photos has, just like its closed brother, a new front, in which especially the modified grille with thicker frame and the thoroughly redesigned front bumper with hexagonal air intakes, among other things, determine the image. The striking yellow paint is also specific to the open JCW version.

Mini also uses the brush of innovation at the rear of the John Cooper Works Cabrio. The sporty convertible gets a more pronounced rear bumper. Central to that renewed and now decorated with a diffuser are again two exhaust pipes. Mini brings, among other things, new light metal to the open JCW. The innovations are also known: the Mini John Cooper Works Cabrio gets a renewed infotainment system that shows its tricks on a now 8.8-inch display. The Mini’s electric hood can be opened or closed in 18 seconds up to a speed of 30 km / h.

While the JCW’s nose has been thoroughly redesigned, the powerhouse of the summer fun machine that lurks within it remains unchanged. The 231 hp and 320 Nm strong blown 2.0 four-cylinder therefore remains completely itself and is basically linked to a manual six-speed gearbox. Those who keep on haunting should be able to help the Mini John Cooper Works Convertible in 6.6 seconds at a speed of 100 km / h. If you opt for the optional eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, 6.5 seconds is enough for the 0-100 sprint. The dense John Cooper Works is a bit faster, with manual gearbox that version rumbles to 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds, the version with automatic transmission in 6.1 counts.
