Do you think the Mini Countryman is a successful model? Then you are not alone. A Chinese manufacturer has skillfully placed the Countryman under the copier and has turned it into a mini-Mini Countryman.
The time when Chinese car manufacturers sometimes skilfully copied existing models seems to be over, but not in every segment. Especially in the class of tiny electric city cars we sometimes come across counterfeit designs, but we rarely experience it as colorful as the Chinese Shandong Leimai New Energy Vehicle Industry, founded in 2000. The company has applied the design of the Mini Countryman to an electric microcar, with a special result. Even the Union Jacks in the taillights have been adopted without shame one-on-one.
These patent plates that AutoWeek has surfaced from the depths of the international patent offices show Shandong’s latest little electrical rascal. The company also shows a picture of its new electric little one on its own website. Appearing to be one of the company’s few electric four-wheelers, Shandong apparently specializes in electric three-wheelers, both open and closed. The company says it has 8 production lines on which it produces 400,000 (!) vehicles annually. We can’t tell you much more about the Shenhao branded mini Mini Countryman clone, although we wouldn’t be surprised if you weren’t sorry about that.
