Minor updates for 2025 M 1000 RR, S 1000 RR, M 1000 R and S 1000 R

In terms of absolute numbers, they are no longer making any headway, but that has not stopped BMW Motorrad from providing both technical and visual updates to the M 1000 RR and S 1000 RR Superbikes as well as the M 1000 R and S 1000 R Hypernakeds for the 2025 model year. to give.

Minor updates for 2025 M 1000 RR, S 1000 RR, M 1000 R and S 1000 R

Not really earth-shattering things, but enough to give the Superbike and Hypernaked family the stamp ‘new’ for model year 2025. The most important updates are the homologation for Euro5+ and the introduction of an M-throttle handle with a shorter stroke, which is also popularly called fast throttle. In this case, M-fast gas.

However, when developing the 2025 M 1000 RR, the Germans went a little further than just that. The new M 1000 RR – aka the M RR – benefits from what BMW calls a significant power increase of no less than 6 hp. With a G 310 R that would have been truly earth-shattering, but in the case of the M 1000 RR, we don’t think anyone will notice the difference between 212 and 218 hp, which the M RR is now rated for.

In addition to improved power delivery, BMW Motorrad has optimized aerodynamics, thanks to a newly designed front fairing and new M Winglets 3.0 with, according to BMW, drastically increased downforce. The Flex Frame has been further developed and now includes a new engine mount on the left side.

BMW Motorrad has also made improvements to the operating systems. The Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now features the new Slide Control function thanks to steering angle sensor technology. This has resulted in a new subdivision of the DTC into Slip Control and Slide Control. The introduction of steering angle sensor technology has also led to the new Brake Slide Assist function of the BMW Race ABS Pro. In combination with the M-fast throttle this should have resulted in significantly better performance and control.

As before, the new M RR is offered in two versions: the M 1000 RR basic variant in the primary color Lightwhite uni and the M 1000 RR M Competition in the primary color Blackstorm metallic, each combined with designs in M colors.

The S 1000 RR — abbreviated as Double-R — has been significantly refined, especially for track use, according to BMW Motorrad. Thanks to the M-fast throttle, the S 1000 RR can respond even more directly to every command from the throttle handle, new winglets provide more downforce, a new front fender with integrated brake lines improves brake cooling and new side panels of the fairing parts offer a more striking design.

The standard equipment of the Double-R has been significantly improved. Now offered as standard are ‘Riding Modes Pro’, which includes additional ‘Race Pro’ modes, with two additional combinations for throttle response and engine torque, as well as customizable Engine Brake and Hill Start Control Pro. A five-level adjustable ABS in the ‘Race Pro’ modes and the ‘Slick’ ABS setting are also included. In addition, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) has been added to the list of standard features.

The new S 1000 RR is offered in three attractive color schemes: the basic variant in Blackstorm metallic, the Sport model variant in Bluestone metallic with matte graphics and the M Motorsport variant in Lightwhite Uni/M Motorsport in combination with the M package.

For the coming season, the M 1000 R — abbreviated as MR — has received a more dynamic design with the new dual-flow LED headlight, derived from the RR models, and the M logo in the air intake between the headlights.

The new M 1000 R is available as a basic variant in the color scheme Lightwhite Uni/M Motorsport and in the new color White Aluminum metallic matt. In the M Competition equipment variant, this paint is also available in addition to the Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport color scheme.

In all color schemes, the rear frame and swingarm of the new model year are finished in Platinum Gray metallic. The winglets are finished with black textured paint and the covers for the clutch and generator are also coated black.

The traction control DTC has also been revised. The control strategy is derived from the RR models and, in combination with the short-throw M throttle, provides a noticeable improvement, especially in Race mode for track days.

An extensive range of original BMW Motorrad accessories and special equipment completes the range of modifications.

Finally, the S 1000 R — abbreviated as Single-R. The Hypernaked now starts with an even more powerful inline-four engine, delivering 170 hp. A shorter final drive ratio improves sprint performance. The optimized standard Shift Assistant Pro supports even smoother shifting. In combination with the new M fast throttle, this results in a significantly more dynamic setting and noticeably better acceleration in all situations. In addition, the S 1000 R’s traction control DTC benefits from revisions to the DTC, further improving performance.

The new Single-R also features the new dual-flow LED headlight, derived from the RR models, which provides a more striking appearance. The extensive standard features of the S 1000 R include engine drag torque control (MSR) with configurable ‘engine brake’, a short license plate holder, a USB-C charging socket under the seat and the intelligent E-Call emergency call.

The new Single-R is offered in three attractive color schemes: the base variant in Blackstorm metallic, the Sport model variant in Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow and in combination with the M package in Lightwhite Uni/M Motorsport.
