Mitsubishi brings back Ralliart

Mitsubishi brings the name of its former sports and motorsport division Ralliart. For the time being, however, do not count on extra powerful versions or on a new Lancer Evo, because Mitsubishi dilutes the label to nothing more than a package of stickers and special floor mats.

Ralliart is the sports and motorsport department of Mitsubishi, although you will no longer come across that name with the brand in 2021. In the middle of this year, Mitsubishi announced that it would be reviving Ralliart and today we see the first evidence of that. However, the new Ralliart-Mitsu’s are a lot less exciting than you might have thought beforehand.

Admittedly, the last car Mitsubishi had a Ralliart version of in the Netherlands was not a rally blast for the public road. However, it was a variant of the last generation Colt that was boosted to 150 hp thanks to the arrival of a turbo, which squeezed 109 hp out of the same 1.5 without a turbo and which was previously simply called Colt 1.5 Turbo. In Thailand, Mitsubishi is once again bringing the Ralliart label to the fore, albeit on specially decorated versions of the Pajero Sport and Triton. We know the latter in the Netherlands as the L200.

The cars get historically justified Ralliart decals, sportier-looking bumpers, red and black accents, red mud flaps and a set of special floor mats. As Ralliart, the Pajero Sport is always equipped with the 181 hp and 430 Nm strong 2.5 diesel engine, the Triton Ralliart has to make do with a 128 hp and 240 Nm strong 2.4 diesel.
