New generation is more economical and looks more aggressive
Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 (American version)
Mitsubishi today unveils the new generation Outlander. The brand has not made any major changes, but has focused on improving things like quality and design.
On the Amazon Livevideo channel, the new Mitsubishi Outlander debuts online today. The model first appears in Emergency America and can therefore deviate from what we will see on the market later. There are no major changes. Mitsubishi has focused on improving quality and driveability, upgrading equipment and taking the brand’s new design direction.
The design looks more powerful than before, with an almost upright grille. Besides height, the presence of the SUV is also emphasized in width with horizontal lines. The headlights, still surrounded by boomerang-shaped chrome, curve further out. All in all, a step away from friendly crossover to a more aggressive SUV.

Technology and interior
The use of extra strong but flexible steel makes the fourth generation Outlander safer. The Japanese brand has also taken care of the 2.5 liter petrol engine. Compared to the previous engine, it would produce 8.9 percent more output and 2.6 percent more fuel-efficient. The petrol power source is linked to a Continuously Variable Transmission. On the 4WD model, Brake Active Yaw Control (with active intermediate differential) is integrated with Super-All Wheel Control, in order to also direct drive forces to the rear wheels.
The tidy dashboard (hardly any buttons!) Also has a horizontal appearance. This expresses the large space even better. The materials used are partly covered with (stitched) leather, one of the ways in which the interior quality is increased. Despite the lack of numbers, Mitsubishi states that the body is slightly wider and that the footwell in the first and second row of seats has also been increased. Of course, the interior can be divided in several ways.

Equipment
In the higher trim levels, riders now have a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. They can personalize this as desired. In addition, a 9-inch multimedia screen is available, on which things such as smartphone exchange, navigation and audio can be controlled. The 10.8-inch Head-Up Display is new. Also available is a Bose premium audio system with ten speakers. The phone can be charged wirelessly.
Mitsubishi also mentions various driver assistance systems; these are currently aimed at the American market. We will have to wait for more precise information when the Outlander is presented for the European market later this year.
