Mitsuoka M55 Concept

The Japanese Mitsuoka amazes us time and time again with its almost inexhaustible creativity and they have also gone all out for the company’s 55th anniversary. The M55 Concept probably looks familiar to you. It starts with a C…

There are two possible answers: Challenger and Civic. What Mitsuoka has done is take a Honda Civic and transform it into a kind of Dodge Challenger. At least, from the front it is almost indistinguishable from a Challenger. However, the middle part of the car is unmistakably the current Honda Civic and at the rear we mainly see a combination of influences from the car industry of North America and Japan from the late 1960s.

In the interior of the Mitsuoka M55 Concept, it is mainly Honda Civic that takes center stage. Yet the Japanese have also managed to add a touch of the 70s here. The upholstery of the seats is very reminiscent of what you could find in many American cars 55 years ago. Mitsuoka celebrates its 55th anniversary with the M55 Concept and looks back on what is called the ‘Americanized Japanese identity’ of that time. It is not yet clear whether there are production plans for the M55 Concept, but Mitsuoka has released crazier creations. Big chance, then.
