Volvo goes with the dust comb through the delivery range of both the S60 and the S90. The delivery range will look different with immediate effect. In addition, the two sedans have also been adjusted on a detailed level.
Volvo is smoothly implementing a model year update on the S60 and S90. The S90 – as previously announced just like the V90, XC90 and XC60 – is only available with plug-in hybrid powertrains and there are also changes in the engine area for the S60.
Volvo S60
Unlike its SUV brother XC60, Volvo still supplies the S60 with plug-free powertrains. For example, the sedan remains available with the B3 and B4 so-called mild-hybrid machines. However, the blown 2.0 four-cylinders of those two engine versions have been modified. The petrol engines run according to the Miller cycle and are no longer linked to a conventional eight-speed automatic transmission, but to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. As a result, the 163 hp strong B3 and the 197 hp powerful B4 emit less CO2 than before, 14 and 10 grams less, respectively.
As with the other Volvo models, the well-known Momentum, Inscription and R-Design versions are no longer available. They are making way for the Core, Plus and Ultimate flavors, although the Polestar Engineered variant will also remain. The S60 B3 Core has a starting price of €44,995. For the B4 – which is available from version level Plus – costs at least €51,995. The S60 Recharge T6, the 350 hp plug-in hybrid, has a starting price of €51,495 as Core. For the 455 hp Recharge T8 plug-in you will lose €58.495, the T8 Polestar Engineered changes hands from €67,995.
The Core, Plus and Ultimate versions can be combined with the Bright and Dark packages, which have no additional cost. Although that does not apply to the Core version of the B3. If you order the S60 as Plus Bright or Ultimate Bright, you will receive, among other things, chrome-colored accents. The Dark variant is fitted with black plastic parts all around.
More S60 news? Certainly. For example, the car has a new rear bumper with hidden exhaust tailpipes and a slightly revised front. In addition, Volvo is making changes to the infotainment system. The S60 now also has the system that runs on Android as standard.
Volvo S90
The Volvo S90 is also no longer available in the old familiar versions, but like the rest of its stable mates, it is available as Core, Plus and Ultimate. However, the engine range is heavily stripped down. The S90 is only available as a 455 hp Recharge T8 Plug-in Hybrid. Its starting price: €67,495.
